Flat elevator cables for CCTV and intercom in lifts.
Lift camera dropping out? It is usually the cable. Round CAT6 is built to be pulled once; a lift cable bends on every trip. CAT6Flat is a flat, flexible, stranded-copper elevator cable for IP cameras, HD cameras and intercoms, made in India by Channeltech and supplied in 180 m coils.

What do you need today?
The cable moves with the cabin. Every trip.
Watch the loop. The cabin goes up and down the lift well; the cable hangs from a bracket at mid-height and has to follow. Switch between round CAT6 and CAT6 Flat to see what each one is being asked to do.
Flat vs round, with the numbersStranded conductors share each bend across many fine strands, and the flat profile bends across its thin axis only, so the loop hangs in one plane.
CAT6 Flat 4 Pair: the flat elevator cable for lift CCTV.
One flat cable carries data and PoE from the lift well to the camera in the cabin. Choose the standard cable for most lifts, or the GI-rope edition where the lift well is tall or the lift never stops.

- 12 × 5 mm flat, 24 AWG stranded copper
- Each pair in its own flexible sheath
- FRLS PVC jacket, −20 to +75 °C

- Same four pairs, plus two GI steel ropes
- The cable hangs from steel, not copper

Channeltech CAT6 Flat and Channeltech 2+2 Flat, made in Vapi
Channeltech CAT6 Flat is a flat elevator cable (also called a flat travelling cable or flat lift cable) for IP cameras in lifts: four twisted pairs of stranded copper, an FRLS PVC jacket and a 12 × 5 mm flat profile that hangs in one plane and bends across its thin axis. It carries data and PoE from the lift well to the camera in the cabin.
Channeltech 2+2 Flat is the flat elevator cable for HD, AHD and analog cameras on a DVR: two video cores and two power cores in one flat jacket, so video and 12 V travel together. Channeltech was the first in India to make a flat 2+2 lift cable for HD cameras.
Both are made at the Channeltech plant in Vapi, Gujarat, which has made cables since 1985, and are supplied in 180 m continuous coils through Channeltech and WIAN dealers.
Solid copper cracks where it bends. Stranded copper shares the bend.
Solid-core LAN cable work-hardens and can crack at the flex point after repeated trips. CAT6Flat uses seven-strand copper conductors, individually sheathed pairs and a soft FRLS jacket in a flat profile that bends across its thin axis only. The electrical values stay at CAT6; the cable stays alive.

Common questions about CAT6Flat
What is CAT6Flat?
CAT6Flat is Channeltech Systems' range of flat elevator cables for CCTV and intercom in lifts. The hero is CAT6 Flat 4 Pair (CC-8251G-90) for IP cameras, with a GI-rope edition (CC-8261G-90) for tall lift wells. Alongside are CAT6 Flat 2 Pair (CC-4251G-90) for intercoms and the 2+2 Flat (CC-9511K-90) for HD cameras, which Channeltech was first in India to make. All are flat, flexible FRLS travelling cables made at the Channeltech plant in Vapi, Gujarat.
Which cable for an IP camera in a lift?
Channeltech CC-8251G-90, CAT6 Flat 4 Pair — 12 × 5 mm, 24 AWG stranded copper, FRLS PVC, recommended for PoE camera runs up to 60 m. Use CC-8261G-90 with GI ropes for tall or heavy-duty lift wells.
Which cable for an HD or analog camera in a lift?
Channeltech CC-9511K-90, the 2+2 Flat — two tinned-copper video cores and two copper power cores in one flat FRLS jacket. Channeltech was the first in India to make a flat lift cable for HD cameras.
Can I use ordinary round CAT6 in a lift well?
Only for the fixed section from the NVR to the junction box. The travelling loop needs a flat cable with stranded conductors; solid-core round cable cracks under continuous flexing.
How is the cable supplied?
As a 180 m continuous coil (90 m + 90 m). If you need only 90 m, we cut it in the middle. 200, 300, 400 and 500 m rolls are available on special request. As a guide, a 20-floor building needs about 37 m of cable per lift, so one 180 m coil covers four of its lifts.
Is this only a travelling cable for CCTV?
No. CAT6Flat covers both CCTV and intercom in the lift: CAT6 Flat 4 Pair and the GI-rope edition for IP cameras, the 2+2 Flat for HD cameras, and CAT6 Flat 2 Pair for the intercom or emergency phone. They are flat elevator cables, built to travel with the cabin.
Who makes CAT6Flat cables?
Channeltech Systems Pvt Ltd — an Indian cable manufacturer established in 1985, with its plant in Vapi, Gujarat, and an office in Mumbai. Channeltech also makes CAT6A, CAT7 and CAT8 LAN cables and is the parent company of the WIAN brand.
Buying from outside India?
Channeltech exports the four CAT6Flat cables from Mumbai on FOB or EXW terms. Minimum order 1,000 m, mixed cables allowed, lead time 10 to 14 days, CE, RoHS and ISO 9001.
